Congratulations and thank you to WOC students and families for your generous support of the Lupine Trick-or-Treat for Unicef coin drive! You contributed $380.59! That’s about 40 pounds of coins, which equates to 97 Covid vaccines for children around the world who wouldn’t otherwise have access. In addition, Lupine students reached out to their families via email requesting donations and earned another $1,243.80 plus some matching donations, for a grand total of $2,043.80!
How encouraging to see young people taking action and making a positive difference in the world. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens (no matter their age), can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has” Margaret Mead.
During the project students researched Unicef, made a Unicef timeline, wrote an information page, created a google document inserting graphics, sent emails, counted and calculated money amounts, and made thank you cards. A Wildflower Win-Win.
